Mass UFO Sighting Over The Skies Of Rockford
And Winnebago County in the early 2000’s

The mass sighting happened over 20 years ago, but many residents still remember it like it happened yesterday!

In the early 2000’s several local residents reported seeing weird objects in the skies over our area.

There were reports of a Black triangle floating across the skies of Winnebago County.
That was spotted near State and Perryville, and a short time later near Harlem and Forest Hills.
It was last seen headed towards Rock Cut State Park.

Around the same time period, numerous witness reports of several glowing objects.

The strange glowing objects hovered in the night sky.
Most reported that it appeared to be one large craft.
Others reported it as several smaller objects flying in formation.

Depending on who you ask: Some think we are not alone in the universe.
While others think it was just some Chinese lanterns.

Witnesses who saw the strange glowing objects, swear that it was not Chinese lanterns.

Welcome to the Official Rockford MUFON website

The Rockford, Illinois and surrounding areas,
Have been a hotbed for UFO activity and other unexplained sighting in our skies.

In the past Rockford MUFON has held several in person meetings.

In the past we have had some very special guests!

• Jim Penniston  who is famous for touching a UFO in the Rendlesham Forest.
  And has since came out with the famous binary codes. 
• Author Gary Osborn who co-authored a book with Jim Penniston

But due to some unforeseen circumstances, the in person meetings have been temporarily canceled.

Once we re-establish our in person meetings, we will post them here first! 

In the meantime,
We are currently focusing our attention on conducting local investigations
And educating the public on related topics.
